The Stillness of Strength
From Jabbi Delahaye’s print collection.
Enlarge image ↗A lion looks calmly beyond the frame, its mane unfolding into currents of cream, deep blue and burning orange. Fur becomes cloud; curling strands dissolve into an imagined universe. Around the face, everything seems to move, yet the lion remains composed.
The lion’s mane flows into the surrounding universe, suggesting a connection between the life within us and the larger world we inhabit. Its stillness becomes a way of remaining present within uncertainty—a strength that allows movement and change without losing its centre.
Painterly textures draw the eye through the mane and surrounding atmosphere, offering a different encounter at close range. From a distance, the lion’s presence holds the composition together: watchful, grounded and quietly assured.
